Step 1 – Verify Eligibility Criteria
Begin by confirming that you meet the minimum academic requirements. For the MBBS programme, LUMS expects completion of 10 + 2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, at least 50 % aggregate (40 % for reserved categories), and a qualifying score in NEET (for Indian applicants) or the relevant national exam in your home country. Check age limits (17 + years by 31 December 2025) and ensure you hold valid passports for international study.
Step 2 – Gather Required Documents
Compile notarised copies of your academic transcripts and certificates, passport (front-back), recent passport-size photographs, NEET scorecard, police clearance certificate, medical fitness certificate (HIV-free), and a financial statement or sponsor letter proving funds for tuition + living expenses. Ensure all documents are translated into English or Persian and authenticated by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Iranian Embassy/Consulate.
Step 3 – Submit the Online Application
Visit the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences admission portal (or the authorised representative’s platform) and create an applicant profile. Fill in personal data, academic history, and programme choice (MBBS 2025 intake). Upload scanned documents in PDF/JPEG format, double-check for clarity, and pay the non-refundable application fee online. Early submission (January–April 2025) improves scholarship and seat-allocation prospects.
Step 4 – Await Preliminary Evaluation
The Admissions Committee reviews your application for completeness, academic merit, and language readiness. If additional information is required—e.g., updated transcripts or corrected scans—you will receive an email checklist. Respond within the stipulated window (usually 7–10 days) to avoid deferral to the next intake.
Step 5 – Receive the Conditional Offer Letter
Qualified candidates are issued a Conditional Offer Letter (COL) via email. This document confirms provisional acceptance and outlines tuition fees, hostel charges, and deadlines for fee remittance. Review all details carefully; discrepancies must be reported within 72 hours.
Step 6 – Pay the Initial Tuition Deposit
Secure your seat by remitting the first-year tuition deposit (or the amount specified in the COL) through bank wire transfer to the university’s account. Retain the SWIFT receipt and share it with the admissions office. Payment confirmation triggers issuance of the Official Admission Letter.
Step 7 – Apply for the Iranian Student Visa (Type S)
With the Official Admission Letter and a visa support certificate from LUMS, apply for your Iranian student visa at the nearest Embassy/Consulate. Submit biometric data, passport, visa form, photographs, medical and police clearances, and proof of finance. Visa processing typically takes 3–4 weeks; track status online and attend any scheduled consular interview.
Step 8 – Arrange Travel and Pre-Departure Formalities
Once your visa is stamped, book flights to Imam Khomeini International Airport (Tehran) or direct to Khorramabad, depending on availability. Inform the university’s international office of your arrival itinerary to arrange airport pickup and hostel allocation. Complete pre-departure medical insurance and pack originals plus attested copies of all documents.
Step 9 – On-Campus Registration & Medical Check-up
Report to the International Student Affairs Desk within two business days of arrival. Submit passport for residency permit processing, undergo the university’s mandatory medical check-up, and finalise hostel room assignment. Pay any remaining balances (hostel, insurance) at the campus cashier.
Step 10 – Attend Orientation and Begin Classes
Participate in LUMS’s week-long orientation covering academic regulations, timetables, language support, and cultural adaptation sessions. Collect your student ID card, library access credentials, and log-in details for the learning management system. Classes for the 2025 MBBS cohort commence in late September; attendance during the first fortnight is compulsory to maintain enrolment status.
